What does this gauge mean?

We currently only raise money to pay for facilities and supplies, attempting to save enough funds for 3 or 4 months into the future. Our primary costs are the monthly rental/maintenance for the portable toilet, and the semiannual purchase of mulch for the gardens. The portable toilet is about $80 each month, and the mulch is about $350 every six months, or about $60 a month. This gives us an average minimum monthly cost of about $120. On top of that, torch fuel, wood, drinking water, paper plates, cups, napkins, utensils, candles, incense, and many other consumables needed for events and rituals add up to another $70 a month. We rely on these things being donated directly at the moment. Lastly, we occasionally need to replace things like the fire place, the torches, and other equipment that lasts for years, but not forever. Again, we currently rely on these things being donated directly.

So, to pay the bills each month without bouncing checks or requiring members to bring supplies, our bank account needs a minimum balance of about $150. Then, to purchase mulch we need to save up another $360. Finally, to deal with occasional replacement of equipment ourselves we should build up a nest egg of about $500. So, if our balance falls below $150, we have a problem, and if it reaches a $1000, we are well prepared for expected expenses. To make this visual, we show a fuel gauge with E meaning $0 and F meaning $1,000.
