Happenings
Sunday, May 3, 2pm to 3pm
Beltane falls exactly opposite Samhain on the Wheel of the Year. Both Sabbats mark points in time when the veil between the worlds is particularly thin. Beltane is the celebration of the Earth being in full bloom, humans included. During this time the healing powers of water from sacred wells is amplified by this surge of creative energy. In ancient Rome, coins and other offerings were left at wells and pools, and the tradition continues to this day. Come play and be merry as Ric and Melissa lead a ritual to celebrate the powers of water by creating our own symbolic sacred well in the gardens.
Everyone is encouraged to dress for the occasion. Think Faeries and Green Man and the brightness of Summer. Bring wreaths to adorn your hair, bring sashes and brightly colored veils and scarves to wear and wave, bring anything else bright, shiny and jingly that you think might be fun.
This is a family friendly event, so bring everyone out! It will be held at Gaia's Gardens, 855 West Morgan St, in Raleigh.
Ostara Chocolate Ritual - Sunday, March 21st. at 2 pm
Head on out to The Gardens and celebrate Ostara with us. The ritual will start at 2 p.m. and we will be exploring the God and Goddess through the most sacred of items – chocolate! Yes, back by overwhelming demand is Michelle’s famous Chocolate Ritual!
We will celebrate the Goddess in her three aspects; Maiden – White chocolate, Mother – Milk chocolate, and Crone – Dark chocolate. We will also celebrate her consorts: caramel, nougat, peanuts, etc., which represents the God.
Finally, we will ask that the deities bless us and the Church with fertility to fulfill our desires.*
So put on your “stretchy pants” and join us at Gaia’s Gardens, 855 West Morgan St. http://www.cote-nc.org
*Disclaimer: Neither COTE or Michelle are responsible for any children that are due to this ritual. Last time Michelle led a ritual, thousands of shoes rained down on a Miami street. You have been warned.
On Sunday, Nov. 2nd, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. we begin a very pagan day. We start with our annual "Empowering our Leaders" ritual. We will be building energy and sending it out to our soon to be elected leaders, energy that carries the positive traits we need from them as they steward our Country into the next decade. This is not about who gets elected. Instead we will be trying to help whoever is elected be the best leader they can be.
DON'T FORGET DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME.... 10:30 STARTS AN HOUR LATER AS WE LET OUR CLOCKS FALL BACK IN THE WEE HOURS OF SUNDAY MORNING.

The day continues with brunch at Tir Na Nog, a local; Irish Pub and Restaurant. Scotch eggs, anyone? I thought we in the south knew how to build up to a heart attack. The Irish have apparently been at it much longer...
After brunch, at about 2pm, we start the PPD Planning meeting, still at Tir Na Nog, at least that's the plan. We will have to see if they let us tie up tables that long. If we get kicked out, we'll just head back to the gardens.
See you Sunday!
After circle on Sunday 11/16, we will be hitching up the wagons and heading to Wilson for a shopping trip to Truely Unique.
http://truelyunique.com/Kay has graciously offered to open her store for us on a Sunday so that we can all carpool over. If there are any herbs or teas that you are interested in, send Kay an email with a list and she will have it waiting for you. Don't miss out, this will likely be our last trip out there before the holidays.

Hey Gang, lets put on a Ritual!!
Join in the fun on Sunday, 10/19 at 10:30 a.m. as we make up our morning ritual. That's right, we, as a group, are going to create a ritual from the ground up, from Quarter Calls to Intent, to the Workings, a sort of Improv Ritual. If you've never written a ritual, this would be a great time to start. As we work through the steps, we will discuss the theories of the"hows" and "whys" of each part.
For anyone who is starting out or is unsure, this is a perfect opportunity to learn and to practice. For those who have experience with writing and performing rituals, now is a good time to pass on your knowledge and advice.
