Happenings

This month we will be celebrating the Goddess in Her darker aspect. As we embrace the season of the Crone, we will honor her wisdom, patience and the balance that she brings to our lives.
Through the ages she has been portrayed as the Destroyer, the Temptress, a fearsome, twisted old woman bringing death. And that is the one side of the coin that has been accepted by a Patriarchal society. But there are two sides to every story.
She is also Love, she is Knowledge, and she is the untapped Power within us. She gives the Power to be independent, strong and free, to stand alone and be at peace with our oneness. In her is the ability to accept balance in our world.
She is the wisdom that can only be gained by millennia of experience. With her guidance, we may receive our most powerful gift, self knowledge.
And so we will honor her in all her aspects and meet her with reverence, joy, and a soul that is open to the teachings she has to offer.

Hello Everyone, as usual, I'm spying out people to do rituals this month. I did draft someone for the one worship circle this month, but I do need to double check and make sure. Sometimes my powers of persuasion weaken once they are no longer under my ominous gaze. But I'm definitely looking for a Full Moon Leader. So if you're within the power of my voice, email me know at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and let me know you're ready to step right up and do it. Try it, you'll like it.

PS Would the person that volunteered to run the Drum Circle at PPD please contact me. Evidently, I stored the memory of who that was in a faulty brain cell, and now that information is gone
I'm still looking for people to lead next Sunday's Worship Circle and Monday's Full Moon Ritual. Anyone interested can contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Come on people, I'm sure there's someone, or one's, out there just dying to lead a ritual, but just a little shy to step up and into the spotlight. Don't worry, we don't bite. Well, at least most of us don't. Anyone that has even the remotest interest, please email me and let's see if we can get you into that circle.

Memorial Day weekend is the annual event of Spring Gathing of the Tribes. It takes place near Windsor, Virginia at Black Water CampGround. There are workshops all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with practioners local, national and sometimes international, coming to teach on a wide range of Pagan subjects. There will also be vendors from up and down the eastern seaboard, as well as a ritual and a massive bonfire Friday and Saturday Nights, with drumming and dancing around the bonfire. The last year I went, 2005, there were somewhere around 500 people there. I had a blast the three years that I went, so now I'm trying to see if I can get a group to go up as a Church of the Earth Group. Now I must tell you that it is a primative campground, but they do have a bath house and port-a-potties all over the place. If you have a camper ther are hookups available near the main building. You can find out more about Blackwater Campground at http://www.pagan.com/Blackwater/index.html , and Spring Gathering of the Tribes at http://www.pagan.com/SpringGathering/index.html . The list of workshop presenters will grow as we get closer to the event. So if you're interested, please check out the websites, and for further info you can contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

PS. The links should work now.
Join us on Sunday, February 3rd at 1pm at Gaia's Gardens for our Imbolc gathering. This holy day, also called Candlemass is the midwinter celebration. It is from the times when farmers would need a good celebration to show that they are half way through winter and the ground is beginning to get fertile once again. The grape vines are cut back, the early seeds are planted, and the farmers celebrate the end of the most harsh parts of winter. The ceremony gives thanks to the spirits or gods that the harsh times are ending and the times of plenty are approaching. In Catholic religions, this is the time when candles are blessed for use during the coming year.
Leading: Rev. Su Windsong
Additional Info: Imbolc is the time of mother's milk and newborn animals, so I want everyone to bring to circle something, or a symbol of something, they have "birthed" from their imagination. (Children are always welcome in my circles, but we want to celebrate creative birthing, not REAL birthing! LOL)
Very important -- There will be milk and cookies served for cakes and ale, so please contact me directly with food allergies! (RevSuWindsong at aol dot com) I'm not wealthy, but I'll try to accommodate you. :-)
What to bring: Festive, magical, or medieval/Renaissance garb is welcome, but not required. There will be a heartbeat drumming, so any style drum is welcome as well.
Since we will be doing a trance-meditation, a mat or blanket is advisable if you do not want to sit in a chair. Dress for the weather of the day.
